Increasing numbers of people are leaving their jobs (or some elements of their lives) because their burnout is so bad that they cannot function or even imagine being able to function properly again.
By the time people seek help for burnout, they are generally so far down the path to physical, emotional and mental exhaustion that it takes an enormous amount of time and effort to reverse the ravages of the disease.
